New Energy Hub provides expert planning, environmental and energy advice to communities, developers and landowners from the inception of a renewable energy project until after its construction. We offer a range of services, including;

RENEWABLES DEVELOPMENT

New Energy Hub has extensive experience planning, developing and delivering renewable energy projects.

We offer advice and services for developing wind, solar, biomass and hydro projects. Services include site finding, landowner negotiations (commercial & legal) wind and solar site design, grid connection investigations, EIA, planning application, project management and delivery services.

Our clients include renewable energy developers and public sector organisations.

Community

Community energy projects may be small scale renewable energy projects or community ownership stakes in larger commercial renewable energy projects such as wind farms.

Small scale community energy can be in the form of community solar, wind or biomass projects. We can offer advice and project management services on planning, development and grid connection.

Commercial energy developers are being encouraged by the government to offer communities close to renewable energy projects direct involvement through for example shared ownership schemes. We can assist communities and developers in establishing community involvement in accordance with the latest Government/ community energy task force information.

PLANNING

New Energy Hub has extensive planning expertise and a comprehensive understanding of planning legislation and policy. Vicky Portwain is a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

We produce planning appraisals and planning statements. We advise on change of use, planning application and appeal work. We mainly work on renewable energy projects but we can advise on any infrastructure for example energy storage and general development too. We also have experience of the DCO process for large infrastructure projects.

EIA

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is complex and documents must be produced according to EIA legislation. NEH has expertise in screening, scoping and producing EIA documents. We also co-ordinate and manage Environmental Statements working with specialists such as ecologists and highway engineers.

Our director has been involved in EIA reviews and challenges and we know how to apply best practice and case law. We have the experience to ensure EIA’s are robust.

COMMUNICATIONS

New Energy Hub believe in proactive stakeholder consultation and management. Stakeholder consultation should be targeted and timed correctly to ensure effective project development and construction. We can prepare and deliver community consultation strategy plans.

We forge relationships with community members to improve communication and reduce areas of conflict. We can also arrange public exhibitions and community consultation events.
